Currently, Repsol Sinopec is the fourth greater producer of oil and natural gas in the country. According to the latest Oil and Gas Production Monthly Bulletin, from the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), the company produced 69,264 barrels of oil equivalent (boe) per day in October. In the 2020 edition of Rio Oil & Gas, which will be held virtually from December 1 to 3, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the company will present to the public its campaign «We are Energy to Create Tomorrow» with the production of films, podcasts and a landing page on its website, showing actions and projects that mark its 23-year history of pioneering and innovation in the Brazilian E&P market.

RSB was Petrobras’ first partner in opening the E&P market in Brazil, with the signing of the Albacora Leste field contract in 2000, and has been recognized by the sector’s indicators for its performance. Repsol Sinopec appears in the ranking of the 1,000 largest companies in the country by the Valor Econômico newspaper, as the third position among the largest oil and natural gas companies. In “Maiores e Melhores”, from Revista Exame, RSB is the third largest in the country in terms of wealth generated per employee; the sixth largest in adjusted shareholders’ equity; sixth company that invests the most in Brazil in strengthening its capacity to produce goods and provide services; and the 14th among the least indebted companies.

The company occupies a strategic position in the areas of greatest potential in the Brazilian pre-salt. Currently, Repsol Sinopec’s portfolio of assets comprises three producing fields Albacora Leste, Lapa and Sapinhoá – the third largest producing field in Brazil – in addition to exploratory blocks of great potential, such as Sagitário and BM-C-33, which was a discovery made by RSB in 2012 and which may become one of the main sources of natural gas in the country.

Recently, RSB signed contracts for sharing energy outflow and processing infrastructure with Petrobras, Shell Brasil and Petrogal Brasil. The contracts provide for the physical interconnection and sharing of outflow capacities on Routes 1, 2 and 3 – the latter Petrobras property and under construction – forming the Integrated Natural Gas Outflow System (SIE), and third party access to three Petrobras processing plants – the Integrated Processing System (SIP). A milestone in the opening of the Brazilian natural gas market that demonstrate the commitment of RSB and all partners to contribute to the development of a competitive and sustainable market in the country.
